Future Challenges of Nursing in Health System of Iran

Purpose: Nursing development is considered as one of the most important ways to achieve universal health coverage and sustainable goals in different countries. Iran has potential provide services at all levels coverage. Therefore, planning for nursing needs recognize future challenges. This study aims explore challenges system from perspective experts. Methods: In this qualitative study, 11 semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts by purposive sampling 2017–2018. Interviews recorded transcribed framework analysis method was used data. Results: The results showed that a favorable requires three areas “governance challenges” including centralized stewardship, policy-making legislation, monitoring evaluation, cooperation communication other institutions, “inadequacy professional social demands” community-based nursing, upgrades disease patterns, expanding home care, care centers, use technology, “human resource “including education tailored community, empowering managers, recruiting retaining nurses, specialized nursing. Conclusions: A coherent government, based on demands, enhancing human resources line emerging future.
